Home Groups

Welcome to the Home Group Ministry at MAC. Each home meeting is a place for you to be accepted and valued for who you are – a child of God. We hope that you will feel affirmed, loved and released to take your place in our community, and that you will be changed along with us by the power of God.

Throughout the New Testament we see examples of God’s redeemed living together in community.  Amazingly, God’s grace was released to work more powerfully among new believers in such a way that Paul wrote:

“But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.  Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For you see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;  And the base things of the world, and the things which are despised, God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are:  That no flesh should glory in his presence. “ 1 Cor 1:24-29 (NKJV)

As a matter of fact this dynamic happens repeatedly as we step out in obedience and live transparently – what we call doing life together.  This gives everyone a platform to be an encouragement to others as we live out life’s particulars with love and faith in God. No wonder then that the author of Hebrews thought it important to remind believers to “not forsake the gathering of yourselves together,” and that we need each other on a daily basis (Heb 3:12-13).  In another sense, we are warned to beware of complacency. It is not satisfying to only receive, we're made for much more than that. Being intentional with our commitment to the body – giving to others, and then being receptive to the body’s ability to speak in turn into our lives is what home group ministry is all about. The result to this is spiritual growth and maturity for the fruitfulness God has envisioned for us.

Blessings,

Chris W.
