We feel that real life change happens best in the context of a small group. To grow spiritually you have to connect relationally. This is why our goal is that every person who participates in the large group environment at MAC, become connected in a small group environment as well.
Our small groups are environments where 10-15 people come together weekly with the same goal of growing in their relationship with God and one another. You will study together, pray together, serve together, and apply the biblical truths to your own life.
Each of our groups function from a foundation of 5 key values
Community – “You to Me”
Hebrews 10:24-25, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
This our opportunity to connect at a personal level. Most people come to group after a long day of work or kids and just need to stop and breathe. Relax, share, connect.
Transformation – “God to Us”
1 John 2:6, “Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.
Ultimate goal of our groups is to develop fully devoted followers of Christ. As we discover truth during our studies, we will seek to apply that truth to our individual lives and encourage one another to live out what we are learning
Compassion – “God Through Us”
2 Corinthians 1:3-4, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
As we live out this transformation, we will begin to care for one another through prayer and serving. We will strive to be the support we each need physically, spiritually, socially, and mentally. This will carry us beyond the group meeting and into our lives throughout the week
Multiplication – “God in Us”
Acts 3:47, “…and the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”
Healthy things multiply, they grow, they reproduce. Each of our small groups will have the goal of producing more small groups. We have friends that need to experience the community, transformation and compassion that we have experienced. Birthing new groups enable the church to continually expand their reach through the city.
This also fosters leadership development within each of our groups. Group members will be able to utilize their God given giftedness within the life of the group
Service – “God Through Us to the World”
Matthew 9:37-38, “Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
What good is all of this if we don’t put feet to our faith and impact the community in which we live? Each group will plan and carry out quarterly service projects into the community. This is our way of impacting Delaware County, Ball State University and the world, one group at a time.
